Chicago Craft Beer Week is finally here, bringing with it 11 days of beer events spread all over the city and suburbs. Some of the shindigs are well-established annual events that need no introduction. Others are smaller in scale, from tastings to tappings or simple beer specials throughout the extended week. Here are a few of the events, large and small, you'll find me at this week.
Beer Under Glass - Garfield Park Conservatory

Chicago Brew Werks Grand Opening - Plainfield
10am - 7pm Saturday, May 18th
One part homebrew shop, one part tasting room, CBW has you covered. With a new location in Plainfield, any craft beer or homebrew affectionado will feel right at home.
Penrose Brewing/Perennial Brewing Collaboration Tapping - The House Pub - St. Charles
7pm Monday, May 20th
This one may not be on the actual CCBW schedule, but it should be. Geneva's future hometown brewery, partnered with Perennial Brewing on a Belgian Strong Blonde. Here's your chance to find out why you should be excited to have a brewery in the Tri-Cities.
Bacon and Beer Dinner Pairing with Brewery Ommegang - Heaven on Seven - Naperville
6pm Tuesday, May 21st
Beer. Bacon. Brewery Ommegang. What's not to love?
New Wave Brewer Showcase - Hamburger Mary's - Chicago
7pm - 10pm Wednesday, May 22nd
The new class of Chicago area brewers, all in one place. Come meet the new kids from Temperance, 4 Paws, Lake Effect, Spiteful, Flesk, Ale Syndicate, Begyle and DryHop.
West Loop Craft Beer Festival
1pm (12pm VIP) - 5pm Saturday, May 25th
The grand finale of CCBW, this event should prove to be a proper send off and farewell until next year. 30+ breweries. Food from the French Market. Great location. Tell CCBW 2013 goodbye, but see you soon.
